"O Admirável Sertão of Zé Ramalho" is a musical that celebrates the life and work of the singer and composer, dividing it into five "modules" that correspond to important phases of his career: his origins in Brejo da Cruz, the beginning of his interest in music in Campina Grande, the experimental phase in João Pessoa, the struggle for his career in Rio de Janeiro, and finally, his resounding success as a "Popstar". The play, conceived by Eduardo Barata, uses the Sertão (the Brazilian backlands) as a universal metaphor for resistance, dreams, and transformation, presenting the artist as an archetype who pursues his goals regardless of location.
